Happy New Year everyone! I had planned on posting this earlier, however, my husband and I came down with quite a bad cold virus that made me a total couch potato for the better part of a week. I have watched the entire final season of Dexter on DVD, saw nearly all the episodes of Breaking Bad and I am sick of watching LA Law and news. I don’t do “sick” very well and would love to get some makeup on and get out of these sweats.
Now back to fashion. I am a sucker for vests and I love them for several reasons. It is a perfect piece for Austin’s cooler weather and gives you that finished look you need. This vest from The Garden Room is certainly the high end look in fur vests, but I’ve fun with all types of faux fur and leather vests this season too. I’ve even pulled out my red down Columbia vest for my casual look days and when it’s all snapped up it really does take the chill off.
I love the lime green shirt shirt under this vest and pairing it with jeans and nude heels is perfect for date night. The skinny jeans may be up for debate to wear at my age, but I think the debate is not so much the jeans, but how they fit and what top you wear with them. For an age appropriate look, wear a top over skinny jeans that is long.
I wish you all a wonderful new year with much happiness, health and great success. For several years my resolutions have been a well-thought out process and go a little deeper than eat right and tone up. My previous resolutions have been, “What If and Why Not”, “Enjoy the Journey”, “Yep I Can Do That” and for 2014 it is “Explore All Possibilities”. I believe lots of great things are going to happen for both Fashionably Austin and Fashionably Cheryl and for you! I hope you enjoy exploring new things with me.
