Hello fashion friends!
April is one of the busiest months for fashion in Austin so my posts here have been a little tardy as the fashion calendar has been full. My camera has been getting quite a workout! From the University of Texas Fashion show to the charity fashion show featuring the Spring collection by Jason Wu, I have enjoyed attending the shows. But one of things I am challenged with is how to dress comfortably and fashionably.
Covering the local fashion scene has been the platform that started my career in Austin and I continue to unveil, report and photograph the stories almost 20 years ago.
And in other personal news, you know that I have been recovering from a hysterectomy, appendectomy, and they removed an ovarian cyst. A lot of abdominal surgery, but happy to report I bounced back pretty fast. Just happy it’s over and all is fine.
This black and white striped top has been pulled out of my closet several times since I bought it online. It offers me that comfortable but fashionable option when I have to shoot events. I dressed up the look with a pair of my favorite bow-tie shoes, but make note my flats are always worn when on duty. I have not been much of a fan of the high low trend but this one added the classic colors, fun pattern and since I can move in it and be comfy, it was a win-win.
I hope you all get to attend some fashion events in your hometown. It is great to support the hard working, creative individuals all around us.
