It’s my favorite time of year in Austin! The days are getting longer, spring and summer clothes are being moved to the front of the closet and social media accounts are full of photos of pets, children, and families in Texas bluebonnet patches.
I wait anxiously each Spring to see my first Bluebonnets around Austin. Typically it’s while driving down an Austin highway where it seems the wildflowers, Indian Paintbrush, Primrose, Black Eyed Susan, just magically appear in early March through Summer and the city just bursts with color.
We are lucky to have had the former first lady and Texan, Lady Bird Johnson make it her passion to beautify our nation’s highways. It is evident in the many acts passed by Congress, specifically The Wilderness Act of 1964 and the Highway Beautification Act of 1965, just to name a few. The Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center in Austin is a tribute to her vision which was started in cooperation with actress Helen Hayes.
For MY annual bluebonnet shots, I selected my crisp and casual white jeans with a fun bluebonnet blue ruffled blouse…ruffles are a huge trend for Spring. I stumbled across the site where I bought the blouse on a fellow 50 and fab blogger’s site and ended up finding many things, at super-affordable prices, to fill in my Spring wardrobe. Since I am now starting to offer links so you can enjoy some of my finds, I thought the best way to write about a shopping experience is to test it out myself.
Shipping took a little longer than you may be used to and the quality of the clothes is similar to that of an H&M, Loft, or a Forever 21 store. The sizing chart was on point and it was helpful to have the model’s measurements mentioned to use as a size guide. Out of all of the things I purchased, I only have to return one item.
Have a beautiful Spring Gal Pals!
